Description
The eternal spiritual truths verified by Sri Ramakrishna give meaning to life at all stages of development, for they point the way to the complete fulfillment which human beings are continually seeking. The first part of the book establishes the importance of his life and his message in the present age.
The sixteen monastic disciples of Sri Ramakrishna who were the beginning of the Ramakrishna Order exemplified their Master’s teachings of the harmony of religions, devotion to God, and service of God in man. Swami Satprakashananda, a senior monastic teacher of this Order, had the rare privilege during his early years in India of seeing Sri Sarada Devi, Sri Ramakrishna’s virgin wife, and of meeting ten of the sixteen disciples, as well as “M,” the recorder of the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. The author’s reminiscences in part two are interesting, personal accounts of his contact with these veritable saints.
